Day 17 | Unheard Prayer
When There is Spiritual Warfare Involved
In response to our prayers, God’s army of angels is mobilized. In the same way, to stop God’s answer from reaching us, the Devil mobilizes his own army, the army of demons.
We see such instances explained in scripture. It is important to be aware of spiritual warfare happening in the background of the world we can see and hear. Sometimes when we are unaware of this, we get discouraged and quit praying minutes before the answer reaches us.
“Then he continued, ‘Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days.’”
Daniel 10:12-13a
Daniel had been praying for three weeks! God sent Daniel the answer through the angel Gabriel the minute Daniel started praying. But Gabriel was interrupted by hell’s angels, and was prevented from getting to Daniel. Since Daniel did not give up and continued to press on, his answer finally reached him.
Prayer Challenge:
Sometimes we need to pray the same prayer many, many times over before we receive the answer. Pray that the Holy Spirit will help you to be sensitive to spiritual warfare occurring on your behalf, so that you can pray specifically for God’s answer to reach you in time.
