Day 14 | Praying Like Jesus | Acknowledge God’s Knowledge
Every day has its worries. But, even before we wake up and the worries of life hit us, God knows their existence and has a way to rescue us.
In prayer, Jesus always acknowledged God’s knowledge of His situation. When we petition to God acknowledging His knowledge of our situation, it brings glory to His name. In Matthew 6:25-34, Jesus talks about God’s intimate knowledge of the needs of His creations and the way He has already taken care of their needs. He uses these verses to encourage His followers to not worry about their future.
“...your Father knows what you need before you ask him”
Matthew 6:8b
Knowing that God knows relieves the pressure on us and puts it squarely on the only shoulder that can carry the burdens of the Universe. Take your yoke of worries off and place it on the shoulders of our strong God.
Prayer Challenge:
Think about the things that worry you, big or small. Write them down in your prayer journal. Pray about each one of these needs/worries, acknowledging God’s knowledge of them, and give them up to God during your quiet time today.
